MATERIAL RANGE FOR PRODUCTION

Material Selection: Engineering Plastics – The Core of Over 80% of Our Products

At Thai Usui, we deeply understand that selecting the right materials is the fundamental basis for creating high-quality plastic products that genuinely meet customer needs. With extensive expertise in Plastic Injection Molding services, we proudly showcase our widespread use of Engineering Plastics, which constitute a significant 80% of the materials used in our product manufacturing processes.

Why Engineering Plastics Are Our Primary Choice

Engineering Plastics are not just ordinary plastics; they are innovative materials developed to meet complex and specific demands. With properties superior to general plastics in many aspects, they are highly popular across various industries that require high strength, durability, and performance, including:

  • POM (Polyoxymethylene): Distinguished by high strength, excellent dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low friction coefficient. Ideal for moving parts, gears, or components requiring high precision.
  • PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate): Resistant to chemicals, good strength and heat resistance, and high dimensional stability. Often used in the automotive industry and electronic components.
  • PA6/PA66 (Nylon 6 / Nylon 66): Key properties include toughness, high impact and wear resistance, and excellent chemical resistance. Popular for automotive parts, machine components, and sports equipment.
  • PC (Polycarbonate): Transparent, very strong, high impact resistance, and good heat resistance. Suitable for applications requiring transparency and durability, such as lenses, electronic components, and automotive parts.
  • PPS & ETC (Polyphenylene Sulfide and Others): This group of materials boasts special properties in high heat resistance, strong chemical resistance, and excellent dimensional stability. Ideal for high-temperature applications and challenging operating conditions.

Augmented by Commodity Plastics for the Remaining 20%

While we focus on Engineering Plastics for high-demand products, we also strategically utilize Commodity Plastics such as PP/ABS/PE for the remaining 20% of products that require excellent basic properties and cost-effectiveness. These include:

  • PP (Polypropylene): Lightweight, flexible, chemical resistant, and Suitable for packaging, and less critical automotive parts.
  • ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene): Strong, impact-resistant, and easy to mold. Ideal for parts requiring aesthetic appeal and durability, such as automotive interior components, toys, and electronic device casings.
  • PE (Polyethylene): Highly flexible, chemical resistant, and water-resistant. Suitable for packaging, pipes, or components requiring flexibility.
